Everybody’s so frightened to scare those little children,
To let them know reality,
Then how will they learn if you don’t tell them?
How dangerous this world could really be
Scare them, frighten them,
Let them know,
What really could be lurking in the dark,
Not some freaky monster off a TV show,
Let them scream, as loud as they can,
In the middle of the night, so you run to their bed,
Make them scream to make sure mommy is still there,
So you can reassure them that you love them and you care,
Promise them that you’re not going anywhere,
They’ll grip your arm as tight as they can bear,
Make them shout for daddy, to make sure he won the fight,
So he can tell them that he and mommy are still all right
So he can reassure their child that they’re still so much in love,
To let them know that their fight ended in a hug,
To give his child a kiss on the head,
Then tuck them snugly right into bed
How will the children know what to look out for
To not go through that strangers’ car door,
If you don’t tell them, don’t let them know,
That this isn’t a joke, this isn’t a show.
This is real life my children and let it be told,
That no matter how many times you hear this, no matter how old,
That these dangers are so very real,
So scare the children, keep them on your heels…
Let them scream, as loud as they can,
In the middle of the night, so you run to their bed,
Make them scream to make sure mommy is still there,
So you can reassure them that you love them and you care,
Promise them that you’re not going anywhere,
